Some variables to certainly consider when selecting an ideal shade for your area is shape, size and coloration. What shape is likely to work best for the space? Common styles include round, oval and even square shaped shades. You may also want to consider rectangular and pendant-shaped shades, which can be effective in giving a room a more modern day edge. Although there are some regular recommendations for lamp shades, such as having the shade cover the light switch and having a shade that is larger than the widest part of the lamp base, choosing what looks right to you is the best guide you can adhere to. As with other factors such as color and shape, you want a size that suits the lamp base and reflect the right amount of attention so far as the style element is concerned. Would you like it to blend into the background or make a statement?
Avoid lights that cast a bright light widely, not to disturb your guests and neighbors as they sleep or enjoy their own backyard festivites. Instead, place a tall light that directs most of its light downward at the entrance to your path, stairway or dock landing. This will create a walkway of lights but keep the lighting primarily on the deck and not in the eyes of your guests. Spot lights tend to put out a wide stray of light but can stray too far into the windows of your neighbors or across the canal into the windows of your neighborsUsing solar rock lights to illuminate your lawn is as easy as propping up the synthetic rocks at the proper angles and in the appropriate locations. The rocks themselves serve as the support for the lights. Those may be pointing to the sides or directly up. These gadgets are very stable. They will not topple over and won't need to be embedded into the ground. There will be nothing for you to do but to drop them in place.
So, I started watering them from the bottom only. After 3 or 4 days of this, the seedlings did not seem to be doing any better. Back to the computer I went and that was when I learned that they were probably dying off due to lack of lighting.
On the other hand, if your space is more elaborate and you're looking for elegance and charm, you'll probably be more interested in crystal candle wall sconces. These opulent pieces, often seen in formal dining rooms, hallways, and foyers make for an impressive way to light your space while understating your fine taste in home decor. And, despite their expensive look and feel, you need not spend a fortune to add crystal candle wall sconces to your walls, as many are modestly priced.
